Cron Job/Tab

The other problem is usually the cron job, this is a file called cron.php that needs to be run every hour. to save you going to it every hour of every day we create a cron tab or cron job that will do it for us. to do this open cPanel and log on:

  • Click Cron jobs at the bottom of the home page Under the Add new cron job put an '*' in each box
  • In the minute box type the minute past the hour you want the cron job to run (eg use the time now plus 10 minutes to make things random and so you can see it run) I used 3
  • In the commend box use: curl --silent --compressed http://www.example.com/cron.php Hit the button Add new cron job
  • At this point you should go have a coffee or something.

When you've gone over your minutes (mine was 38) refresh your status page and check cron has run. If it hasn't then re-do the above.
