GoCardless
Found a great new payment gateway to use instead of Paypal, GoCardless. I'm using it on one of the websites I'm developing (myBubbleBee) at the moment and it seems to work well. It's easy to setup (the api is very simple), cheap at 1% (or under) per transaction and simple for the customer for both recurring payments and 1 off payments.
The only problem I have with it is trust, will the customers trust it? We all know the hardships Paypal went through to get any sort of trust so will GoCardless be trusted? On myBubbleBee we've decided to go with both Paypal and GoCardless so we can see who the customer chooses. If even a few choose GoCardless it should mean there is trust and some people do know about it... time will tell
