SEO or Search Engine Optimisation is the black art of making your site easier for search engines to see and list. The better your SEO, the higher the site is ranked in the search engine. There are lots of ways of optimizing websites for search engines but here is how I do it.

Once you have the site optimised for Search engines you can start to market it with SEM and offline marketing.

Modules

As usual we need to add in some modules to extend the Drupal website. Lets start with these:

• Nodewords - Allows control over the meta tags on the site
• Page Title - Allows an admin to change the <title>
• Search 404 - If a link is broken and an error 404 page should be shown then a search will be done instead and the user taken to the nearest match
• Similar By Terms - Will show any connected content
• Tagadelic - Shows a block with links to tags
• XML sitemap - Create a sitemap of the site in XML that the search engines use

Install and enable these 6 modules in the usual way

Now we need to configure these new modules
